Trip chose Estes Park, Colorado as the location for the third VBA National rally. Located just east of Rocky Mountain National Park, and in the Front Range of Colorado's Rockies, Estes Park offered stunning scenery and great riding.

Most everyone arrived on Monday the 26th. It was decided that rather than have organized group rides that suggested routes would be available. Joel and Rod had maps in the hotel lobby and many downloaded GPS routes that they made available. They were also there to answer questions about the area. People rode in smaller groups thru the park and the surrounding area.

The weather couldn't have been better and it allowed for not only great riding but getting to know fellow members in the parking lot in the evenings. The location did have one draw back, several people did suffer from altitude sickness.

On Thursday night we had a finale dinner at the motel.

Mexican food was served. Jared Gant the VBA's new President was there and he spoke to the group as did ROK's Teri Conrad.

Teri also arranged for Dr. Frasier to speak.

Dr. Frasier is well known for his long distance riding.

It was very entertaining to hear his stories of riding across Russia, Europe and South America.

We also held a raffle with items donated by VBA members and the fine people at ROK.

The raffle raised around $600 and Joel presented a check to a representative of the (JDRF)

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
