The 2009 Northeast US / Eastern Canada combined Regional Rally was held in Bath, New York
Turns out Bath was a very fitting name as we got pretty wet during the first and second day of riding.
Tuesday, Day 1. We were headed to a large motorcycle dealer and there was so much water in the road the bikes were
leaving a wake behind them like boats on a river.
Anyway, the group got separated and half went one direction, the other half went in the opposite direction.
You can probably guess neither group made it to the destination.
Actually our group had to use Larry's "Fish" GPS to find our way back to the motel, in the rain.
Ever tried to read a GPS wrapped in a plastic bag while riding a motorcycle in the rain?
Still raining of course but a good time was had by all.
If you’re ever in the area I recommend a visit. On display are vintage cars, planes, motorcycles and boats.
We also did some touring of the wine country and stopped for dinner.
Thursday, Day 3 We rode to Watkins Glenn for a visit to the State Park. It is located right off Main Street.
Within two miles, the Glen's Stream descends 400 feetpast 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course.
The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls. Very interesting and scenic hike to the top.
It was our first rally and we had a small turn out. But it was a great time meeting members we only knew from corresponding on line.
It does not matter what VBA region you live in, or what kind of bike you ride, you are always welcome at one of our events.
If you have never attended a rally I urge you to go to one. You will have a fun time and meet some interesting , helpful and great people.
